FAQs
General
What is sterling (.925) silver?
Sterling silver is a metal alloy composed of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals like copper or zinc. This combination increases the durability of the silver while keeping the beautiful color- making it the perfect material for jewelry.
Can you explain your pricing?
I want to be completely transparent about my pricing so you know exactly what goes into each piece. My prices reflect the quality of materials, the time spent crafting each design, and other costs of running my small business.
I’m passionate about sourcing materials locally when I can, carefully hand selecting each gemstone to ensure the best quality. Sustainability is also really important to me, so I choose eco-friendly packaging and use mostly recycled materials, including scraps from my own work, to reduce waste. The rising cost of silver (now nearly $50 per ounce) also factors into the price.
As for labor, I’m balancing a full-time job while also creating each piece of jewelry. From sourcing the stones to designing, soldering, sanding, and polishing, every step takes time and care.
I also love being part of local markets and community events, so your support truly means the world to me. Thank you for helping me create beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces that are ethically sourced and built to last you a lifetime!
Can you resize a ring?
Most rings can't be resized, particularly those with stones. Feel free to reach out to me using the contact form in the dropdown menu for any inquiries.
Jewelry Care
Does sterling silver tarnish?
Sterling silver is an alloy of pure silver and a small percentage of another metal, such as copper or zinc. Since it’s primarily pure silver, it does not rust. However, factors like humidity, exposure to the elements, and sweat can cause it to oxidize. Oxidation forms a thin layer on the surface of your piece, which can be easily removed with a polishing cloth. You can help prevent oxidation by storing your pieces in a cool, dark place and cleaning them with a jeweler’s cloth when necessary.
Can you do repairs?
While each piece is created with careful attention to detail, please remember they aren't indestructible. If you have any problems with your order, let me know through the contact form. I might be able to help with minor issues!
Can I wear the jewelry in the water?
While you can wear sterling silver jewelry in the water, it is generally not recommended. Sterling silver is a soft metal that may oxidize if worn in water for prolonged periods of time.

Customs Orders
How do I submit a custom order request?
To submit a custom order request, click this link. It will take you to a form where you can add your contact information and a little bit about the piece you are interested in! Once submitted, your form is forwarded to my inbox.
How long will it take for you to reach out to me after submitting the request form?
I only take on a few custom orders every month to ensure the best quality and attention to detail. Keep an eye out on my instagram (shopmadebymasha) or sign up for my newsletter for my next opening date for custom orders. If my customs are open I will reach out to you within 3-5 days.

- If my customs are open I will reach out to you via email within 3-5 days. We will then communicate back and forth regarding the details of your piece and which date you’d like it by.
- I will send you an invoice for payment. I do ask for payment upfront as insurance for myself since I’ll be creating a custom piece!
- After your invoice is payed I will get started on sourcing the materials for your piece and will send a price estimate based on the design you choose.
- I will start making your piece! If requested I will send progress pictures along the way.
- I will send out your custom piece!
What is the turnaround time for a custom jewelry piece?
The turnaround time for your custom piece depends on whether or not we outsource the materials. I have a small amount of stones on me that you can select from which will allow me to finish your project quicker- or we can discuss outsourcing your stone which will involve me searching for a stone online and waiting for the shipment to arrive.
Can you copy another artists piece?
While inspiration pictures are always welcome I will never copy an artists work. If you are looking for their exact design, please reach out to them!
Can I send in a stone for you to use?
I do not work with materials and stones outside of my own collection and sources because there is always a chance for stones to be damaged during the jewelry making process.
